Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS.

Before the war broke out between the 2 races, there was a small goat monster named "Toriel".

She lived in a low-lying area near Mt. Ebott.

Toriel yawned as she awoke from her sleep. Toriel greeted herself, "Wow! What a wonderful day up ahead! Well, I'm going to make breakfast." She opened the door to the hallway, only to see that the hallway was very dark and the lights shinning dimly. "Huh? What's happening?" She wondered. She then walked down the hallway to the room where the door is. "I'd think I should check outside to see whether everything's alright." The moment she went outside, the first thing that caught her eye is the light shining on a canister. "Huh? What's that? I'm going to take a look." Half-way walking, she heard a scream. Startled, she quickly turned around to see a mysterious slime shoot at her leg and drag her into the darkness. She screamed and cried by saying "Help me please!"...

*B U T N O B O D Y C A M E . . .*

Toriel frighteningly gasped out of her sleep. "Woah! Wow.. phew it's all a bad dream!" Toriel told herself in relief. "Oh no! It's 8 o'clock already! I'm out of schedule!" Toriel zoomed to the kitchen to make breakfast for herself. "The lights in the hallway is normal now." After breakfast, Toriel heard something dropped outside and decided to go outside. Once she stood at the doorstep to her house, "No way! That's the very same thing I saw in my dream!" Toriel said in confusion.

She found a canister containing an unknown substance in the small grass patch in her yard. Being a bit traumatized by that nightmare, she approached the canister cautiously.. Nothing happened. "Phew... Alright, now what's this?" She wondered. "It spells 'D E T E R M I N A T I O N'. I think I should ask Gaster since he is a scientist and asking one is going to be so cool! Oh welp, it's time to get going."

Half-way to Gaster's lab, she met Sans in snowdin forest

She turned around to see Gaster appearing behind her. He then asked her, "Hello Toriel.. would it be nice of you to hand to me that canister you're holding onto right now?" Toriel, being Gaster's friend for a while, handed the canister to Gaster. Gaster then said, "This substance has a label on it. The metal label on the canister labelled 'mination' as an incomplete word. But, there seems to be a paper covering the first few letters of that word that spelled 'Deter'."

*paper is casted with a human spell causing it to be unremovable*

Toriel then said, "Gaster, the entire word spells 'D E T E R M I N A T I O N'. What does it mean?" Gaster replied, "I will find out soon. Thank you Toriel." And he disappears into the darkness. Toriel, being alone in the ruins, decided to survive by herself.
