How to restart your Samsung Galaxy S8 in Safe mode

It is very important that you know how to reboot your S8 into the Safe mode especially if the problem appears like to be caused by a third-party app. By booting your device in this mode, you’re actually temporarily disabling all third-party apps leaving all built-in apps and services running in the background.

Assuming the problem is due to a third-party app, it shouldn’t occur when the device is in safe mode. That being said, here’s how you boot your phone in this mode:

Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power key past the model name screen.
When “SAMSUNG” appears on the screen, release the Power key.
Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
Uninstall apps that are causing a problem.

How to reboot your phone in Recovery mode and wipe cache partition

There are times when system caches get corrupted and while it’s easier to just delete them, you can’t actually delete them one by one. Needless to say, you have to erase the entire contents of the directory where they’re saved. In order to do that, you need to boot your device in Recovery mode and then wipe the cache partition from there. Here’s how…

Turn off the device.
Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
Press the Volume down key to highlight “wipe cache partition.”
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press the Power key to select.
When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device.
It may take a little longer for the phone to reboot but just wait for it.

How to Factory reset your Samsung Galaxy S8 through Settings menu

The factory reset actually brings the phone back to its factory default settings and configuration. This, of course, deletes every personal file and data you have accumulated while using the phone for months or even years. Tap Settings > Cloud and accounts.
Tap Backup and restore.
If desired, tap Back up my data to move the slider to ON or OFF.
If desired, tap Restore to move the slider to ON or OFF.
Tap the back button to the Settings menu and tap General Management > Reset > Factory data reset.
Tap Reset device.
If you have screen lock turned on, enter your credentials.
Tap Continue.
Tap Delete all.
You may now restore your files and data.

How to Master reset your Samsung Galaxy S8 via Recovery mode

It’s basically just another version of the Factory reset but the difference is that you will have to go through the Recovery mode to do this. Unlike the Factory reset, this one actually reformats both the cache and data partitions to thoroughly delete all possible corrupt system caches, files and data that might be causing the problem and this is how you do this…

How to turn off developer options on your Samsung Galaxy S8

Developer options can cause a red border on the screen, errors when connecting to computers, or other problems. If you’re not into coding or modding, then you better turn it off as it doesn’t offer any advantage to you. Use these steps to turn off developer options on the Samsung Galaxy S8.

From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray, tap Settings > Developer options.
Move the slider to turn OFF.

How to reset network settings on your Samsung Galaxy S8

By doing this, you’re resetting all data connections back to the factory defaults. The Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth, etc. are embraced by this procedure so if you have problems with any one of them, then this might work and the following are its results…

Stored Wi-Fi networks will be deleted.
Paired Bluetooth devices will be deleted.
Background data sync settings will be turned on.
Data restrictive settings in applications that were manually turned on/off by the customer will be reset to the default setting.
Network selection mode will be set to automatic.
The following device connections status will default to when the device was being powered on for the first time.

If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
Tap Reset settings. Once complete a confirmation window will appear.
After this, feel free to turn on your Wi-Fi and turn off mobile data if you’re using the former instead of the latter. You may also pair your other Bluetooth devices with your phone again.

BOGO "Invalid credentials" error:

1) Call T-mobile and have them activate the new SIM card.
2) Call E-commerce and tell them T-mobile activated the phone.
3) E-commerce will then note on then account that T-mobile activated the phone and you will get the rebate.
Static while playing music using aux cord on my S8+:
In the setting menu, go to sound and vibrations. Then scroll down to sound quality and effects. Enable UHQ upscaler and the ridiculously horrible static went away.

Password not accepted to open phone after new update

Did you have your Samsung account logged into the settings? You can reset your PIN from the Find My Mobile webpage by signing in with your Samsung Account and enabling the Unlock My Device feature. From there, please apply the "Lock my device" feature again, set up a new PIN code, and give the command to lock your screen again. After the process is complete, please use this new PIN code to unlock your screen.

The microphone is still through there, but hidden. You need to tap and hold the icon to the right of the Sym tab. A window will open with more options, including the microphone.

Random reboots

- Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
- Wipe cache partition.
- If you have a MicroSD card in your Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, then try removing it.
- Safe mode allows you to run the device without third-party apps, so you can test whether an app might be causing your reboots.

- Settings > Display > Color balance.

Wi-Fi disconnecting or slowing down
- Reboot.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Advanced and make sure that Smart network switch is turned off. If it’s already off, just try toggling it on and off again.
- Check in Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Advanced and make sure that Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Always.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Manage networks, tap on the problem network and then Forget. Reboot your S8 and router, then set the connection up again from scratch.
- Some people report success after going to Settings > Connections > Location > Improve accuracy and turning Bluetooth scanning off.

For Mic issues try: Apps > Settings > Advanced Calling.

Head to Settings > General Management > Language And Input > Virtual Keyboard > Manage Keyboards.

Make sure your toggles for the keyboards appear as follows:

Samsung Keyboard (toggle = off)
Google voice typing (toggle = on)
Samsung voice input (toggle = off)
This should get Google Voice typing to work properly. It may also help to switch then revert the Samsung Voice toggle back to on to correct any issues with it.
