1. Everything is component based. - In Angular 1 we had controller and views. For binding view to controller we were using $scope object. In Angular 2 $scope and controller is no longer used. Everything is component. You can breakdown the small view into component to reuse it. So more reusability means less code, less code means your size of the code will be less , so initial loading time will be reduce. It will do the great impact on performance which does matter when you build a large application.
2. We can use the ECMAScript 6-
ECMAScript 6 provides class. You can use every function as a class and it supports full inheritance. You don't need to write prototypical inheritance, you can use classical inheritance same as Java code.
3. We can write class based component.
Angular 2 provides luxury that you can define component as class which will be more readable and and it will be easy for testing as well.
4.It is mobile oriented.
Angular 2 provides mobile toolkit module which provides all the tools and techniques to build high-performance mobile apps using Angular CLI and Angular Mobile Toolkit.It is also useful if you want to application like PWA(Progressive Web App).
