Kata sandang dalam penulisan bahasa prancis ada 3 jenis:
- Articles Définis (The (bahasa inggris) )
Kata sandang ini berubah tergantung kata benda di depannya
yaitu jamak/tunggal, gender dari benda tsb serta huruf depan
kata benda.
Ada 4 Articles Définis :
- le untuk masculine tunggal
- la untuk feminine tunggal
- l’ untuk masculine dan feminine yang dimulai huruf vokal atau
h muet.
- les untuk masculine dan feminine jamak.
- Articles Indéfinis (Sebuah atau beberapa)
untuk menunjuk kata benda yang tidak spesifik atau untuk
benda yg spesifik tetapi tidak diketahui oleh pembicara maupun
sang lawan bicaranya.
Tiga jenis articles indéfinis :
- Un untuk masculine tunggal
- Une untuk feminine tunggal
- Des untuk masculine/feminine jamak.
- Articles Partitifs ( Some(inggris) atau beberapa(indonesia) )
Untuk menunjukkqn sebagian atau jumlah dari benda yang tidak
diketahui dari benda yang dihitung. Kadang kata sandang dalam
jenis ini tidak diartikan.
Ada 4 jenis kata sandang partitifs :
- Du untuk masculine tunggal
- De la untuk feminine tunggal
- De l’ untuk masculine atau feminine yang diawali huruf vokal
atau h muet
- Des untuk masculine atau feminine jamak.
