Her smile widened as the fishes would splash their tails up to the surface showing their vibrant color scales. She was amazed by the water and the coolness it felt on her fingertips.
"Snap!" a slave next to her clapped his hands frightening Asherah into lifting her hand out of the water. "That's what a crocodile will do, it will devour your hand if you carelessly put it in the water." He cackled seeing as she learned her lesson and wouldn't think of dipping her fingers in the water again.
The old man leaned closer to Asherah and smiled, a couple teeth were missing but there was enough for her to understand him. "You are Hebrew, are you not?" his whisper almost hushed.
