Improving Speed for Visualforce Pages
- transients and javascript remoting
- apex actionFunctions will get very slow when large amounts of data
- use Javascript Remoting to speed things up and will be consistent no matter the amount of data
- utilizing @RemoteAction for controller methods will speeed up vf pages if used properly, however global variables will be out of scope
