Vera verto adalah jenis mantra animate to inanimate.
Vera Verto berfungsi untuk mengubah makhluk hidup menjadi piala air. Professor Minerva McGonagal mengajarkan mantra ini di tahun kedua. Mantra ini cukup sulit untuk dilakukan, dan akan menjadi bencana bila salah melakukannya.
Jika salah, piala yang kalian transfigurasi bisa menjadi berbulu dan mempunyai ekor. Dalam melakukan praktek transfigurasi, ada 4 hal yang harus diperhatikan:
1. Konsentrasi penuh.
2. Usaha yang kuat.
3. Ayunan tongkat yang tepat.
4. Pelafalan yang sesuai.

Agar berhasil, harus mengetuk hewan kalian tiga kali menggunakan wand. Ketuk dengan tajam, lalu arahkan tongkat kalian ke objek yang akan ditransfigurasi. Jangan lupa 4 hal yang harus diperhatikan. Lalu teriakkan dengan lantang vair-uh VAIR-toh.
