- Harman being one of leading company in design and manufacturing of audio systems for automotive industries. Its also has very good standing in Europe and outside Europe with several automotive manufacturers like audi, bmw, now Hyundai in korea. Having worked in automotive sector especially infotainment sector before, I wish to work again in such a industry especially in the MES sector for manufacturing. So I can bring a lot to the table for Harman with my work experience.
- One my very close friend who works for Harman referred me to join Harman. We both go a long way back. He has given very positive feedback about Harman which is very encouraging for me. And I really trust his opnion.
- Harman is large multi-national organization spread across different countries. I have work exp of workig in large Multinational companies like Samsung, Siemens, SK etc.. so i settleing down in Harman work force should be quite seamless. I know how to work with Multi-cultural people
---- From Personal Point of view----
- Having studied and worked in Germany before, I feel very comfortable settling back in German work environment. I can also speak the language so it makes life a lot easier.
- Me and wife plan to stay in Germany for probably the rest of our lives, we have been married for over 3 years now and we plan to raise a family ..and we plan to do that in Europe - Also that my wife can speak German we she is also quite familiar with German working style and culture..
- I have very close friends and family members staying in Germany and Austria.. So you know we already have the social circle to rely on.. we are coming into a very known environment.
-------------Key Role in MES in Industrial automation --- Mr. Boehner-------------
- I have over 10.5 years of work experience with almost 80% of experience in the
Manufacturing Industry and Industrial automation. In different sectors like Solar with Solarworld AG, Automotive , Electronics, Oil and Energy .But mainly in discrete manufacturing. Majority of my exp is in MES integration with Business Layer and Equipment integration
- Currently I work as Sr. MES Business Analyst / MES project manager with Samsung... I handle a team of 15 people ( its a group of multicultural people , distributed in diff geographic locations..). MESA certified for MES/MOM methodologies – So I consult the production sites and line managers about the “Best practices for MES” according to MESA and ISA-95 standards
- I am responsible to analyze Together with clients and partners the business processes and production manufacturing processes. and then consult them to improve the efficiency at the shop floor. Requirement elicitation from the our global and local sites and implementing those changes according to the priority. Analysze of requests and demands for different MES modules. (As production plant produces different products like Mobile phones, Home appliances etc.)
- As a Sr.Business Analyst for our MES solutions - all new requirements are gathered by me (create technical docs like BRS, SRS, Technical and Design Docs) and then I coordinate with the “Engineering and Development”, “ Production”, “ Quality Assurance team” , “Logistics” and “ Sales” team to see the product comes out according to the defined requirements. Creating Technical Documents (BRS, SRS, TRS..etc) for the Engineering team. So all the requirements are traced using a requirement traceability matrix. Making sure what we each requirement is mapped to test use cases. Basically following the entire SDLC creating MES from the scratch but also adding new modules to already existing one. ( from requirement elicitation, prioritization of those req., design the application, development , testing and rollout of software). I use Scrum with team as most of our projects are time boxed. Handling MES Configruation and customization tasks as we are trying to create a unified MES system for all our production plants.
- Interface or the SPOC between the customers and the Software Engineering teams and Partners. I am responsible to for end-to-end lifecycle of the project and monitoring its progress from the, conceptualization to Requirement elicitation phase,; Designing the product ; developing the solution ; under strict QA guidelines and then going through different Testing stages .
- Finally staging the product and releasing/rollout and deploying this product to different customer locations worldwide. I am responsible for commissioning and rollout MES throughout the global sites across the world. After a very stringent QA/Testing on the MES., it is first staged and then released
- Vertical integration of MES with ERP, SCM, CRM and PLM which follows strict
compliance and open standards eg: B2MML using XML etc.. Particularly with SAP r3, and Microsoft Navison. Collaborating with different Subject Matter Experts of different for administrator and production line engineers ,departments like Production team , planning teams, supply chain team, logistics and pckaging team, Sales team getting their requirements and prioritizing them
- Supporting our global MES Deployments worldwide- which includes proving 2nd and 3rd level support to our customers and different sites for MES applications. Providing Training and Mentoring sessions about MES applications (Shopfloor maintenance people, At times shift operators, line managers etc)–
- Reviewing and verifying at times creating user manuals, administration guides etc.. - Training the IT team / , releasing documents to Development teams, training manuals, coaching the Maintenance managers in the production line.
- On my Bring out new initiatives and develop concepts to use new technology for MES , create business proposals and give them to clients for the MES solutions (Eg: Cloud based MES , Smart Manufacturing, Virtualization, thin clients , Big data, real time analytics, CEP , In memory data gird, Business process, ESB, etc .. ),
- Business process optimization and standardization ,- Standardization of process across different production plants , Samsung has 28 sites running legacy systems, so the challenge is to transition from legacy system to new generic MES (HQ)which controls all the production sites
- Consulting customers particularly on MES project, Integrating MES with Business Layer, CRM, Logistics, SCM and PLM typically SAP integration, EAI (Enterprise application intergratoin eg: Tibco, highway101), BPM and BRM. CIM and EES (Equipment engineeringsystem) applications
- Creating one harmonized multi-site, multi-country MES template that spells out a consistent approach to MES that can be used across plants by using Business Process Management and Business Rules Engine.
- Creating a generic MES template to Integrate the MES across different sites by defining certain best practices for the process and taking them from one project to another. Mainly focusing on re-usability of modules (Trying to move MES to cloud based MES, using concepts of big-data for MES, real time analytic etc.. ) MES covering Quality Management, Labor management , Process Management , Product Tracking and Tracing , Data acquisition , Resource Management (recipes) ,Quality Management Performance analysis, Work In progress (WIP) , Material management Handing Production management , Production planning
- Scoping the project and then marshaling and handling the resource in my team, distributing the work and creating a project plan , project reporting to the higher management, Any change request that happen or conflicts that happen , resolving those conflicts and reporting them.
---------------- WORK WITH MES VENDORS --------
- I have worked with several MES vendors like - Rockwell, Siemens , GE,CamLine... etc..Created
- User principles of SOA, standardized B2MML, Business process mgmt and ESB for integration , Master Data managent (MDM)
- The idea was to increase productivity, lower the production cost , decrease the inventory , increase OEE ,
- Provide EMI and BI solutions for Production manager and Stakeholders respectively
------------- Standardization benefits of MES ----------
lowers cost of maintaning the IT systems, Improving quality control , Improving better visibility to shop floor activities(Real-time) , faster product development and delivery to market , improving OEE , Better collaboration , standarization of reporting, reduces Total cost of owernship (TCO) by connecting users, content and enterprise applications
eg:reduce cycle time and recipet of good in SCM
