Types of Cauldron :

- A Collapsible Cauldron is a cauldron which is presumably capable of being folded for portability or easy storage. The cauldron shop in Diagon Alley, Potage's Cauldron Shop, carried this type of cauldron. Bruno Schmidt, a six-year-old boy from Germany, killed an Erkling with a collapsible cauldron belonging to his father, thereby saving his own life.

- A Pewter Cauldron is a cauldron made from pewter, a metal alloy made up of mostly tin. A Standard Size 2 Pewter Cauldron is part of the supply list for first-year students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as it is deemed the ideal cauldron for starters. One can purchase a Standard Size 2 Pewter Cauldron at Potage's Cauldron Shop, for a cost of fifteen Galleons. Out of the three common varieties of cauldron — copper, brass and pewter — pewter cauldrons brew at a slow speed.

- A Sloshing Cauldron is a cauldron which sloshes. It was a joke product sold at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.

- The cheese cauldron was a cauldron made of cheese. Its inventor, Humphrey Belcher, had high expectations for the invention, but it proved unsuccessful.

- Slilver cauldron is a cauldron made from silver, soft shiny grey metal with a high value as money, second only to gold. Many of these can be found around the Hogwarts Castle.

- A gold cauldron is a cauldron made from gold, a precious, soft metal. Many of these can be found around the Hogwarts Castle. A simple Knockback Jinx can knock them over.
