Notes

- Most people that I met at the university are friendly, our main German teacher was of great help to us, , mrs. Meral was of great help, I must say,
mrs. Sibel and mrs. Sengul were also supportive.

- The scholarship amount is pretty decent, I didn't like that the students didn't know that we're receiving a scholarship, and they also need to be aware that the scholarship's provider is Germany not the Turkey nor the university.

- The Turkish class, our last Turkish teacher (the one that taught us the B2 book) was exceptionally good, I really wouldn't have passed the Turkish exam without her, she seems to have a plan in mind always, plus she's so active, and she approaches the curriculum slowly and she focuses on listening as she talks a lot about whatever subject we're handling and on speaking as she lets us speak a lot in class, and she used to use her laptop to show us pictures of vocabulary that we didn't know, instead of translating them.

- The food that the university provides is somewhat edible, although it's not tasty, I don't like complaining about food, because well, if you want to eat then eat it, if you don't want then don't eat it, but I felt I had to say that.

- The teachers seem to be qualified, the German class doesn't seem to focus on listening nor speaking, I've to admit though, the A1 level, they did a bit of speaking, the teachers' top priority was to finish the books we had, and it wasn't to understand every single bit, I felt that sometimes cheaters are tolerated although I'm not sure of that, I'm sure that they receive less scores for cheating but doesn't their being overlooked encourage more people to cheat?

- I didn't like studying two languages at the same time.

- There's no direct connection between us and the DAAD.

- I didn't get to choose my major, I've always been interested in Computers, programming and cyber security, people should decide for themselves what they want to study, no one should be forced to live a life that they don't want.

-There's no time to study on your own at home, 7 hours of university is just too much and kills creativity, 4 hours a day of class is enough.

- The university has some unbelievably nonsensical rules, ou can't see the corrected TP after it's written, it just is frustrating and doesn't make sense, we should be allowed to look at our mistakes in the TP that we would write.

- It took us two months to find a house near the university, do something about accommodation, even after a year from university I'm still having problems finding a proper place to stay.

- Students:
We're all Syrians in my class.
They don't seem to be motivated nor competitive, which has affected me negatively and made me lose my part of my motivation.
They speak (including me) too much Arabic and translate every single word into Arabic, that might not concern me, but maybe they should stop shouting out the translations after the teacher say the word's meaning in German.
We're always treated differently.
Students tended to arrive late at the university which affected me negatively, I started to arrive late too.

- Some more suggestions:
Let the teachers be more strict.
The teacher should make the students memorize the most important words (let's say 500 words) and then can she say the meaning of any word using these simple words.
The teacher should either pretend that she doesn't know Arabic or at least prevent any non-German translation and conversations.
