Notes

The narrator married a lovely woman who liked animals. They bought many animals such as: a bird, two goldfish, a black cat, and a dog. He love the cat more than any of the other pets, he would pet it so much, but the narrator had a drinking problem. He would get very angry when he drank his wine. One night while he was drunk the cat wouldn’t stop bothering him, and in his anger he ripped out the cat’s eye and killed it. but later on he decided to hang the cat in the cellar. later that night he heard their neighbor screaming about the narrator’s house burning down to ground so he was forced to live in the cellar of the old house. He found a new cat that look like pluto in the inn and wants to buy the cat from the innkeeper, but the innkeeper never seen the cat before in their inn. While the narrator was walking to the old house and the cat follow him from behind and the narrator got more angry when the cat follow round. He heard the call from his wife to come downstairs and the cat tripped the narrator down the stairs. The narrator then pulled out his knife and tried to kill the cat, but his wife tried to stop him from killing the cat and without thinking he turned around and stabbed his wife. The narrator was trying to find the cat, but couldn’t, so he hid the body in the wall of the old house. The police came in to investigate about his wife, but they could not find nothing round the old house. The narrator decided to turn himself in and tell where he hid his wife.
