Mateo had a promising life ahead of him. An established family, land and fortune to inherit, everything on a silver platter.
In other words, he was spoiled.
All he ever cared about was himself and fucking around. His parents had practically begged him to settle down with one person. Yet he continued to live recklessly - bringing home a new man every night.
One night in particular, a witch had had enough. She'd watched from afar in her shadowed corner of the tavern, day in and day out as Mateo boasted of his riches and said whatever he needed to get a man home and naked. Before his next feat, she'd cut him off to give the fuckboy a rightful punishment.
"You'll be visited tonight," she warned. And that was that.
He'd shrugged it off. She was right.
Whoever she'd spoken to... whatever she'd conjured... something visited Mateo that night. He'd stumbled home drunk and without any conquest to bed. But just as he felt himself falling asleep, a heavy weight could be felt on his chest.
Mateo had tried to open his eyes but the sleep paralysis was too much. He never saw the demonic beast that had visited him, had his way with him, or transformed him. But he was very much awake for every second of the painful transformation that the demon had in mind.
"You're cursed," she hummed with a proud grin the next night - after Mateo had approached her in the shadowy corner of the bar. He'd turned into a monster; silvery gold and scaly skin, a set of black horns and claws, and a devilishly long tail that seemingly danced around with a mind of its own. He'd demanded answers but hardly got any in return. "All you wanted to do was fool around all day and all night, so if that's how you wanted to waste your life, who am I to stop you?"
That was over two-hundred years ago.
The incubus has all but mastered his powers. His true form is still a monstrosity, but he's learned how to disguise himself in his previous human form. In fact, he's learned to shapeshift into any living entity. He lives his life as carelessly and recklessly as he did before.
Sure, he needs to fuck often and feed off of the sexual energy. Sure, he could die if he doesn't.
But that witch didn't curse him. In his mind, she'd gifted him.
He spends his days roaming around city to city. Sometimes he has a hunger for human prey, sometimes he likes to pester and distract deities from performing their duties. Mateo simply has an insatiable thirst and will stop at nothing to get what he needs.
