Tiwaz: berkaitan dengan salah satu rune yang dibaca menjadi huruf T. Tiwaz adalah huruf pertama dari Aett paling terakhir dengan arti: truth, struggle, duty, discipline, warrior.
Berkana: adalah huruf keduanya, dengan simbol yang diambil dari pohon Birch (disebut juga dengan Dewi Birch), huruf Berkana dibaca sebagai huruf B.
Ehwaz: memiliki bentuk yang unik dan dilafalkan sebagai huruf E, Ehwaz adalah huruf ketiga di deretan Aett Tyr, deretan ketiga Aettir dalam Elder Futhark. Kuda menjadi simbol untuk huruf rune ini. Ehwaz merepresentasikan kekuatan juga.
Mannaz: huruf ini memiliki bentuk yang hampir serupa dengan Ehwaz, tapi dibaca sebagai huruf M di Elder Futhark. Mannaz berdiri sebagai huruf keempat di Aett Tyr. Mannaz sendiri memiliki arti yang dianggap paling baik, yaitu Mankind atau manusia, dan merepresentasikan kehidupan dan lingkungan manusia.
Keempat rune ini berasal dari huruf Norse kuno dan empat huruf utama dalam Aett Tyr. Aett Tyr kerap disebut sebagai Aett penutup, maka dari itu isi-isi dari rune yang ada di aett ini berkaitan dengan kehidupan dan kematian manusia.
