When you are using a fraction you may expand it as many ways as you want or may.When you are doing fractions you must make sure that you balance it equally or you will get it wrong.After you have done that you can also do number lines or whatever else you would like that deals with fractions.When your done you must expand your fractions by adding the numerator but you may not add the denominator because the denominator is always the same.
EX;the bigger the denominator the smaller the numerator.(If you follow these rules you will end up with the a correct answer.)
When you double a fraction that is when you add the denominator.
