I had to work collaboratively to solve a problem within my school. This occurred near the beginning of the semester when I noticed a number of new students from various countries such as syria who fled their homeland for the security of our land. Unfortunately I witnessed these students being socially neglected by the rest of the student body. This is why I chose to do something about it. With the help of my friends and the vice principal who I reached out to with this issue, I was able to accomadate 100 student symposium in which there was a mix of both existing and new students willing to meet and greet, run some activites, play games, break bread together, and most importantly get to know to each other. Fortunately, this mission turned into such a success, the feedback was amazing, that my team and I plan on hosting a second newcomers symposium later in the spring this year. My goal is that this becomes and annual tradition in school as I saw the change this has helped implement within my own school. After all, Mahat maghandi did say, if you want to see change, be the change.
