hi im avneet and i think my greatest contribution to the oc soph team would be to provide a helping hand (ive got two actually) i want to help out the coordinators, the head soph and PAs, my fellow sophs, and of course first and foremost the the first years. i could help the first years through my previous knowledge and experience and use it to guide then should they ever encounter a problem. for example i've been in 3 different programs over my 3 years here, ive switched from brescia university college to western main campus, ive been in science and social science, i'll have spent 3 years navigating the western university system and i'll use all this to help guide the students through their first year here and hopefully be able to answer anything they ask of me. as for helping out my fellow sophs, ive previously been a soph and know of the trials one can face during oweek and the other things that come with being a soph and being in a way responsible for your group of first year students while also being a student yourself. i will use my past experience and whatever other resources i have to be there for my fellow sophs like by stepping in if theres an emergency and they need to be away or by just lending an ear to listen. there are a lot of things to face both as a first year and as a soph in oweek and into the rest of the year and the more helping hands youve got the better equipped youll be to handle them, and enjoy your time. thank you for your consideration.
