Bela diri ini berasal Israel dan termasuk dalam jenis bela diri yg keras. Krav Maga sendiri kata katanya berasal dari bahasa Ibrani. Dimana Krav artinya pertarungan, sedangkan Maga artinya jarak atau dekat. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan nama Krav Maga itu berarti 'Pertarungan jarak dekat'
Didalam pelatihannya Krav Maga juga dapat menggunakan senjata moderen seperti senapan maupun pistol. Krav Maga jg dapat diikuti oleh pria maupun wanita dengan metode pelatihan yg sama. Latihan dasar dalam Krav Maga mencakup latihan aerobik dan anaerobik.
Krav Maga tidak memiliki badan olahraga ato seragam resmi,tetapi dalam bbrp organisasi didalam pelatihannya mengenalkan sistem pangkat.
Prinsip umum bela diri Krav Maga:
1. Jangan terluka
2. Menetralkan penyerang secepat mungkin.
3. Melakukan transisi antara bertahan n menyerang dengan cepat.
4. Eksploitasi semua reflek alami dalam tubuh.
5. Eksploitasi semua bagian tubuh yg mudah diserang.
6. Gunakan semua benda sebagai bantuan.
Krav Maga itu bagus buat melatih fokus, reflek, kewaspadaan terhadap musuh yg menyerang secara mendadak.
