Konukçuya Spesifik Toksinler (KST’ler):
KST‟ler, düşük molekül ağırlıkta, farklı yapısal
özelliklere sahip, patojenisiteden sorumlu olan ve
konukçusu olan bitkiye karşı yüksek derecede biyolojik
aktivite gösteren bileşiklerdir. KST‟ler siklik peptidterpenoit, oligosakkarit, poliketit, poliamit ve
tanımlanamayan bazı gen ürünlerini içermektedir. Şu
ana kadar bilinen tüm KST‟ler yaklaşık 20 kadar
fungus türü tarafından üretilmektedir. Bunların büyük
bir çoğunluğu Alternaria ve Cochliobolus cinsleri
içersindeki türler tarafından üretilmektedir (Yoder 1980;
Nishimura ve Kohmoto 1983; Otani 2000).
Fitoaleksin:
Bitkiler tarafından mikrobik, fungal, fiziksel uyaranlara karşı üretilen antimikrobiyal ve antifungal etkili bileşiklerdir. Enfekte olmuş alanlarda hemen birikir. Asma yapraklarında bulunan resveratrol örnek verilebilir.
