A strong arm holds a body firmly by the chest against a brick wall, the air thick with tension as the two figures fiercely stare each other down; both panting heavily, as if moments before they had been engaged in an intense fight to the death. The impression the scene gave to outsiders was only based partially in truth, while they had been fighting, to say it was to the death would be a gross exaggeration of the situation. To put it simply, the two were angry with one another. In the throes of such intensity, the moment overcame them both; before either of them knew it, fists were flying, making contact, and leaving welts and bruises in their wake. Things had gotten so out of hand, that the taller of the two in question decided that the best way to end the scuffle was to pin the other against the wall and strip them of the ability to continue throwing punches, the weight of their body successful in keeping the other still.

"What the hell was that for?" Apparently motives were lost from the start, the taller of the two aired the question through grit teeth, obviously trying to hold back his temper.

"You were being an ass." Though the retort was simple in delivery, it was obviously spoken with an ill tone, as if to deliver a blow their clenched fist could not. "Besides, I was not the one who threw the first punch."

"The hell you weren't Scrappy-Doo!" He spat his reply fiercely, what little control he managed had slipped away as if his grasp on such was slick with oil. A violent shove followed, almost as though he were trying to force the other through the wall.

"You're like a bull in a china shop." It was a swift delivery, words came forth from an unwaveringly chilled expression. The comment elicited a snort from the other, timed as if he were proving their point. "Case in--"

"Don't even." It was a low growl of warning, slicing through the others statement like a hot knife through butter.

The reaction received caused the ambiguous figure's expression to melt, the corners of their mouth lifting slightly in a pleased smirk. They found it hilarious to rile him up, in any sense of the word; be it in anger, disgust, embarrassment, it mattered not how the reaction was obtained as long as there was one. It was almost as if their life goal was to follow him around and make things difficult for him, if not laid upon their shoulders by the fates themselves, it was a self imposed destiny for their own enjoyment. This had been going on for years, it was the duo's set dynamic to become the center of attention with one of their now infamous squabbles whenever one would mouth off to the other, however this was on a far different level in comparison. Most times it never resulted in violence, loud arguments and crazy hand gestures as they mocked one another, but never did it end in a full on fist fight.

"What is the matter with you lately?" This change had been going on for at least a week, there was obvious concern in their tone when the question was posed. While it was good fun to provoke the other, they knew when was best to stop and actually address a serious issue when the time called for it. "It's like you're bitchier than usual."

"Oh I don't know..." He began as he rolled his eyes, his tone dripping in sarcasm so heavy it could leave dents in the ground below. "Maybe it's the change in weather, or something I ate, or maybe it's because I'm damn tired of this routine!" The last part of the statement was shouted, making the other flinch as tiny droplets of spit landed on their face.

"Rude." Ever calm, they shook off the slight fear the shouting brought with apparent ease. "'Seriously, what the hell is your problem? Tired of this routine? Why is this just now a problem? We've known each other since high school, this has been our thing for years and you're just now sick of it? If you're so sick of it why didn't you bring it up sooner? If you're that sick of it why haven't you just up and left?" Eyes narrowed, voice raising slightly in a show of their own frustration. They were certainly holding their composure better than he was, however it was clear they were having trouble keeping it together.

A scoff. "Why should I bother explaining? It's not like you'd understand, or even take it seriously."

"Listen, I have my moments of seriousness, despite what you may think. You should know that." They rolled their eyes and scowled, casting a hard glare directly into his eyes. At that same moment he shifted his gaze away from them towards the ground, jaw clenched tightly with an expression as though he were contemplating something. They quirked a brow at his expression and, if they could have folded their arms over their chest, they would have. "What? You look like you've got something to say."

At that he huffed, demeanor having changed from aggression to nervousness in a matter of seconds, which did nothing but confuse the other even more. He backed away from them and let them free from the wall, still less than a foot away but no longer directly on top of them. He kept himself from looking at them directly, eyes practically glued to the floor as he muttered under his breath.

"Say it like a man for fucks sake!" They shouted, clearly exasperated and confounded by the scene unfolding before them. This was certainly something they've never witnessed from him, so out of character that it had them more worried than he had initially been. "Well?"

"I just don't feel the same anymore..."

"About?"

"You. Me. Us. Just this. I don't know when it started to change but I'm just not satisfied with what we are anymore." The instant the words left his throat it was as if a weight was removed from his chest and a lump dissolved from his throat; the cool sensation of relief washed over him and almost instantaneously he seemed to relax, that was until he glanced over at the confused expression of his companion.

"Wait, what?" Shock was evident in their tone, present in their expression and it was obvious that confession was a kick in the gut. "What the hell do you mean you're not satisfied with 'what we are anymore'? Because given your attitude this past couple of weeks it almost sounds like you're trying to end this friendship."

He blinked. "What? No that's not what I- Gah, look just forget I said anything! Fuckin' moron..."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, you're a fuckin' moron."

"Get bent."

"Maybe I will."

This time he was the one who was left confused. "What?"

He rolled his eyes,
