Please tell me what commander you want to recruit, how many credit you are having, and did you buy any "lv xx pack" in the shop? Not all commander are worth to buy!
The purple one is called Quark while the white-blue is called Lepton. Quark can be achieved by spending a lot of cubit on Celestial Portal>Warp gate. This way is quite slow and you need to be patient. Or you can use 300 credits to convert 1000 leptons to 100 quarks.
Another way is to use credits to buy "lv. 50 pack" in the shop. It does give you 500 quarks as I remember. And if you use real money to by 600 credits and become Vip 1, then you can charge the Warp gate by that credits and get Quarks directly as you use Cubits get Leptons.
