Lebih jelasnya, mantra ini membuat muggle menjauh dengan cara membuat memorinya hilang sementara sehingga dibuat bingung apa yang ia lakukan di tempat itu.
Dulu saat final pertandingan dunia Quidditch, dikatakan setiap inci dari stadionnya dirapalkan mantra ini agar Muggle yang lewat pergi dan teringat akan janjinya. (Maksud dari janji disini adalah, mereka mengingat pertemuan yang tidak nyata. Jadi efeknya seperti mengubah isi pikiran para Muggle.)
Hermionie pernah menggunakan mantra ini saat bersembunyi di hutan. Lalu di habitat Satwa Gaib, Durmstrang dan Hogwarts yang memakai mantra ini.
