~ Duties of a Bailiff ~

-The duties of a Bailiff are to provide protection, safety and security of a Judge, If necessary you are also obligated to doing the same to your assisting deputies and spectating citizens. ~

1. Provide protection and security to the Judge

2. Provide Protection and security of the courthouse and its occupants.

3. Correct any malfeasance within the room.

4. Correct any disruptions of the room

Note; An arrest during a disruption of any kind in the courtroom will result in the charge of contempt of court.

5. If necessary; assist the judge.
Note; You are to NOT leave the courtroom until dismissed personally by a judge. This does not mean you can leave when the judge says, "case adjourned" you must wait till he dismisses YOU.

~ Location of doors and viewing area ~

Front Door (Main Door)
This is the door at the front of the courthouse where mostly pedestrians or primary people will enter.

Secondary Door (Parking Door)
This is the door where the vehicle owner will enter, considering they need to park.

Patio Door
This door is upstairs and leads to the courtroom but specifically to the patio viewing area.

Restricted Door

This is the door to the back right of the room, that has the plate "Restricted" on it.

~The position of Bailiff~

Placed to the RIGHT of the Judge.

- The position of Assisting Deputies

1. Outer-right of the limited viewing area.
2. Public Viewing Area.
3. Limited viewing Area.

Note; The Public viewing area is the seating for the spectators located BELOW the patio.

The patio is located ABOVE the Public viewing area.

The Jury viewing area is located to the right of the public viewing area. This is only open to the special officials spectating the case.

- More assisting deputies locations.

1. Inner-right of the public viewing area.

2. Anywhere on the patio.

3. Outside of the main room door.

4. Outside of the secondary entrance.

5. Outside of the main entrance.

-When a civilian is entering the courthouse, it is important that the deputies that have been placed in the front are stopping and frisking each subject.

Policy;

No firearms are permitted inside the building at any time. Nor Melee weapons!

Procedure for frisking individuals

1. Greet the subject coming up.

2. Make them aware of our policy; no kind of weapons allowed.

3. Confirm to them if they want to enter. If they do, you must search them. (If they are unwilling to let you do so, therefore not giving up any of their weapons, they cannot enter.) If successful, let them enter to a public viewing area.

- In the situation where a threat is on the property of the courthouse, but not inside, the procedure is;

1. Block the entry (using barriers) to the courthouse and/or courtroom depending on how safe it is.

2. Send a Balance the number of deputies out to search the property.

3. Try to use your body as some sort of sheild on the windows of the courtroom (optional)

- If there is a threat in the courthouse and you are aware they're there:
1, Block the entrance to the courtroom with barriers

2. Stand close by to the Judge (Bailiff).

3. Send a balanced number of deputies to search through the courthouse efficiently and swiftly.

- If there is an active threat causing danger to the spectators or other involved members of the courtroom, the procedure is;

1. [Bailiff] Step in front of the judge to be used as a human shield.

2. Assisting deputies either taze the subject with a TI-26 or shoot the suspect with a rifle. (Rifle = better accuracy)

3. In any situation where the judge is in danger, the Bailiff should always stand in front of the Judge to be used as a shield and opportunity for the judge to run before receiving a bullet.

Note: Bailiffs will wear formals unless told otherwise. Assisting deputies will always wear Class A's.
