I met this amazing girl in my chemistry class 6 months ago. I could tell she was attracted to me. We had a strong connection, but i found out she had a very controlling boyfriend half way into the semester, and i had already grown to like her very much, so i didn't make a move. she ended up dropping the class. Months later after not seeing or contacting her and carrying on with my life, she contacted me out of the bleu to just say hi. Anyway, after about a month of texting back and forth, I decided to ask her out over text. I would have done it in person but i don't see her at school at all. She said she's down but that her life is complicated. Instead of just telling her to hit me back when things get less tough, I let a couple desperate texts fly and it scared her off so she asked to postpone. After another month of me just carrying on with my life and realizing fully what I had done wrong, she started contacting me again and telling me how she goes to my old place of work a lot and she wishes that i hadn't quit so she could see me. I took this as her wanting to see me and I asked her if she wanted to have lunch on a Tuesday, in which she replied “I’d love to”. Tuesday comes and she "completely forgot" that we were supposed to meet. Anyway i said “let’s do it some other time, leaving the door open.” I just want to get over this girl. I need to focus on my studies and it’s just unnecessary stress. I just hate that I acted desperate in the beginning and I feel that her actions signify this. Plus, I have a notion that she may be contacting her ex again. He tweeted “she’s a hoe now” and something about people being desperate the day after I asked her to lunch, and I know my chances are over and it really sucks but I love to learn and I’m ready to embrace my stupidity.
