Soap Blizzard atau yang biasa disebut wabah hitam, terjadi pada abat ke-14. Wabah hitam tersebut menelan banyak korban pada masanya. Wabah yang sangat mematikan saat itu. Apa yang dilakukan Glinch Holien ada baiknya, karena beliau mencoba untuk membuat ramuan yang dapat menyembuhkan korban dari black death. Walaupun akhirnya ramuan tersebut meledak dan menyebabkan area London menjadi badai salju. Tetapi karena hal tersebut black death dapat dicegah dan di tekan penyebarannya.
Tentang tindakan kementrian sihir akan Glinch Holien tidak berkepri-penyihiran(?), walaupun Glinch Holien menggunakan sihir yang berlebih dan menyebabkan komunitas sihir terekspose pada masa itu. Beliau telah menyelamatkan banyak nyawa muggle dan penyihir dari black death karena ramuan yang dibuatnya tersebut.
