Samiha Ayverdi, she is one of the important writers of the 20th century. She was born in Şehzadebaşı, Fatih. Her first book was published in 1938. She had more than 40 books. Ayverdi started by writing novel and story, but then she wrote essay, letter types. Ayverdi's books have 3 topic titles. These are '' Mysticism, History of consciousness and civilization construction Istanbul''. Ayverdi's novel and stories have mysticism. İn his memoirs, she wrote history, Ottoman civilization, especially İstanbul. She explain The Tanzimat period. She protected our history. Her books, she said her opinion.

She contributed to community. She tried to show teenagers Mevlana and Yunus Emre. She is one of the organizers ''Şeb-i Aruz Merasimleri'' in 1954, and intended reborn of old Turkish arts.
Ayverdi was a member of some foundations like 'İstanbul Fetih Cemiyeti' ,'Yahya Kemal Enstütüsü'. She also worked for them.
She has taken those awards: 'Türk Milli Kültürüne Hizmet Şeref Armağanı' to his book from Turkish Culture Foundation in 1984.
