Everyday Sexism. It seems ridiculous to me that women are at a disadvantage in the business world. More often than not, women have a better sense of human resource related activities and therefore women are given these jobs. Sexism today is visible everyday. A wolf whistle, an inappropriate remark, a derogatory negative discourse, a stare...any of these things can be listed down to sexism and these things happen everyday, day in day out, no matter what time. Vans...now here comes the best bit; women and vans - immediately a white van sets off an alarm internally in our heads, as if to avoid because of what it represents due to movies etc. The fact that women can be nervous or feel they have to be alert when in public and out and about is madness in todays world, men dodnt need to worry about this so why should we?? This is something we have all experienced. We have all been there when at first it can be a sign of flattery before it actually makes you alert and worried about your own safety. We should n worry about thois kind of thing. Juvenile comments by teenage boys or even married middle aged men, either way they are seen to be threatening as well as sexist and belittling.
