1) Size - All Images needs to be compressed into following formats based on platform:
a) Android - ETC2 8 bits
b) IOS - PVRTC 4 bits
c) Web - DXT5
2) DrawCalls - All images except very large images needs to be packed into atlas using Unity Sprite Packer. But Atlas should be max 2048x2048 in size. If exceeded new atlas needs to be made for rest of the images. Related UI should be packed into same atlas.
Note - Somebody who knows where each of UI assets is being used should do this step.
3) Optional - Some of the large images have something common. So they can be broken down into small assets and replace everywhere in game.
It's late to do this now but wherever applicable, image should be used as "Sliced" type in UI.
4) Android - By Default, Both ARMv7 & x86 options are enabled in device architecture settings. Setting it to only ARMv7 will reduce apk size by 8 MB. Besides x86 is compatible with ARM interpreter.
It should take around whole day to do this. Also it should be done in main branch. Once done, everyone has to reimport assets which can take upto 1-2 hrs of loading, so they won't be able to work on project. This should be done at final stage of project before release otherwise rework will take few hrs but everyone working on project will have to again reimport.
