What are the benefits of feedbacK?

letting your team members know what you're thinking so that your own opinion can be heard and taken account for. Also, if feedback is given to other team members it helps them know things that they are either doing right or wrong, and if they are doing something wrong they can work to fix it.

What barriers exist in the communication process?

Sometimes there will be barriers such as when communicating online where you can not hear the tone someone is trying to convey their words in or simply when someone is not online to respond back. Another barrier would be if someone is not being responsive and open with the group so the group has no idea how to approach the person. By not being responsive, communication is hindered therefore slowing down progress and being unsure whether everyone is on the same page.

4 steps in communication process?

Listening, processing, organizing, responding. Encoding, feedback, translating, etc.

Ford's decision not to recall their faulty car was a conventional approach. They opted to choose the decision that saved them more money in the long run, however if the public knew that Ford refused to recall a car that posed safety hazards to the consumer then the company would take a considerable hit on their trust among the public. Their approach was more focused on their own money rather than sustaining their consumer base.

What outcomes are positively influenced by authentic leadership?

Better relationships and clear understanding between employee and employer. Higher levels of trust along with better job performance. Lower burnout, more job satisfaction, and more OCB's (organizational citizenship behaviors).
