I love seeing the confidence kids get in front of the camera once you manage to get through the childish nature that comes with them. Although my lovely model was joking around, dancing, singing, and posing in particularly cute ways, she managed to stand still and act like an adult, something I was glad and not glad to see. Kids of this world, of this society, are so very concentrated on becoming older, on wearing makeup, on posing like an adult and on giving the right pose. One of my assignments was based on the societal standards that are being put on people, especially girls. From how to look, how to dress and how to act, children aged 14 and under are put under pressure on getting it just right. Disregarding their differing personalities, their different characters and wardrobe, girls are now being told to dress the same, act the same - that different doesn't make you unique, it makes you the outcast.
