on the night of the 20th of march, a volcano located in Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland has erupted. this took jusr over 1 month to stop completely stop. for the first couples of days of the volcanic eruption, all there was there little amounts of lava but as the days went on the eruption got more serious and deadly. fog and ash from the volcano had travellted nearly half was around the world and stopped airlines in Greece etc. some ash had also teavelled to England and many other counties close to Iceland.

people found that at Eyjafjallajökull's vent, upwelling magma violently reacted with nearby glacial water. This rapid cooling made the magma contract and fragment into fine, jagged motes of ash. Near the end of the eruption, equally fine, porous ash was generated when small gas bubbles trapped in the molten rock expanded as the magma neared the surface.

lives in iceland were taken by the strong gases and thick peices 0f ash in the air In England there were over 30,000 more deaths caused by the air which had acid and different chemicles from the volcano, people would really struggle if they had health problems or breathing problems for examples people with astema. in france there were higher than 30,000 nearly double. no buildings were destroyed but parts of trees and forestes were stripped from theyer leaves. the eruption has cleared out most of the mountain where if was becuaes the gases inside the lava has blowen it up bit by bit and day by day. the remains of the volcano stand as pecises as a monument.
