Socke (voice: Jan Delay) once again had a mishap and he ruined the long-planned forest festival for his friends. But the anger over this injustice quickly vanished when he found a treasure map strewn with puzzles. Grandpa Dachs (Dieter Hallervorden) probably drew them before he disappeared without a trace a long time ago. Socke is certain that the treasure can only be the legendary crown that makes its wearer the king of the forest. &quot;King? That sounds good! ”Thinks Socke. “Then nobody is mad at me anymore and can tell me what to do. Then I decide. ”With grandiose promises, he persuades his friends Eddi-B&auml;r (Ulrich Smandek) and the little badger (Nellie Thalbach) to accompany him. However, the trio soon has unexpected competition that has little scruples about putting obstacles in their way ...


A real advancement is not noticeable in characters like the somewhat idiot, constantly hungry Eddi, the worried motherly Ms. Dachs or the smart beaver girl Fritzi (Ranja Bonalana). But it doesn't have to be. Because the story between a road movie and a child-friendly adventure flick is turbulent enough. As with many treasure hunt adventures, the goal here is only half as exciting as the path there, which is peppered with obstacles and difficulties. So the companions have to cross a rotten, already partially collapsed bridge, ride a raging river with a raft, climb a steep mountain, wade through a foggy field and even rescue a kidnapped friend. All of this is shown at speed and with a few surprises, without overwhelming the kids or even frightening them, while the funny moments also bring laughs to the adult companions.

In doing so, cleverly used tricks are used. An example: The stocking on his left foot is a kind of conceited friend for the young raven who serves the action well, especially at the beginning. When he's alone, our hero occasionally talks to the red and white ringed garment. In this way, you can convey to the young viewer what he is currently thinking about or clarify somewhat more complex relationships that cannot be immediately explained with colorful pictures. Cleverly, director Jesse (“The Little King Macius”) and the script written again by Katja Gr&uuml;bel (“The Bunny School - Hunt for the Golden Egg”) do not exaggerate. This way, Sock's conversations with his, uh, Sock always remain lovable and amusing.


Regarding the songs built into the process, restraint is exercised in a pleasant way. This is just as gratifying as it is astonishing when you consider that the makers have one of the country's most popular musicians since the 1990s as the main spokesperson in the cast with Jan Delay, who has come back to the microphone with audible joy and as usual nasalizing. But there is actually no song overkill like in some others
