Online Gaming in Pattaya

A few weeks ago there was a report in the Bangkok Post that touted a new online casino coming to Thailand which was being promoted by a group of Chinese investors. The casino online dubbed GoBo was going to be launched by an Chinese based investment company known as Crotone. The article was updated online after a few days and has since only mentioned one casino in Thailand. It's the Silver Sands online casino. So who is running this casino , and is it legally legal?


The Bangkok Post was informed by a representative of GoBo that they have an online casino, however they aren't licensed to conduct business in Thailand. They're not permitted to operate an online casino in Thailand despite having previously made an application with the Gaming Commission of Thailand. However, they were denied. They didn't provide a reason for why their application was rejected. The Bangkok Post was informed by them that they are open to payments via credit cards. I asked whether they had any concerns and they did tell me that they do deal with gamblers online and process payments through credit cards but the casinos aren't based in Thailand.

Another company involved with online gambling websites which is popular with expats and Chinese investors is Silver Sands. https://splice.com/strawfur6 A representative of the company told me that they don't directly deal with gaming companies or casinos. Their primary focus is the purchase of websites as well as computer software for running the online casinos. They do have offices in Pattaya as well as have an office in Singapore. I asked them if they've ever dealt with a firm dealing with gaming, and if they had, where they did that.


None of them answered my initial question about how they obtained the license they needed to run an casino called wm-casino. In the end, I learned that the Ministry of Gaming and Sports is the authority to operate a Thai casino. The reason why this information was not given to me before I went to check out the gambling websites is because it is unlawful for any person to operate a casino without a government license in the country. I was interested in knowing the owners of these websites and who allowed them online.


I was told by all three of these people that they deal with diverse online casino games the majority of which are slots. It's not clear that they just dealt with slots or played other games like roulette or blackjack. I was offered the chance to play both last minute choices and was not able to find out which ones they accept to gamble at online casino games in Pattaya. The information needed will have to be returned.


It is important to note that all three of these sites operate in Thailand and they have their own gaming commission. I was offered three services, but that's the only thing I was offered with their customer support. It sounded appealing to me. However, I did not have any money at the time and wasn't ready to deposit any money. Maybe I will once I've got more cash!
