What Happens with UK’s “Green Light Travel Rules?

Because of the pandemic, we are dealing with the new normal and travel is one of the most affected industries. Some of these trips have been considered non-essential, which one should avoid since there have been a lot of restrictions from one country to another. When we say non-essential travels, you are required to leave home and move to another place, which are not very important that you can postpone these and it will not greatly affect your daily lives because you have to avoid going out and be exposed to the unseen enemy.

More than a month ago, United Kingdom has been very strict with its travel guidelines. However, it is now reopening its non-essential travels and Britons can now enjoy their access to a large number of popular summer vacations of their choice. They can already go to their favorite spots in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Malta, Madeira, and Balearic Islands in Spain. They won’t be worried when it’s time to go back home because they are no longer required of any quarantine upon return. Some travelers were just disappointed knowing that the list may have included some remote destinations, but has excluded the top spots in US even though it has already a high vaccination rate. Holiday makers were confused and the demand was reduced since Malta, which was already in the green light, has some of its popular spots that are still in the “green watchlist”.

Britons should never book in haste because they are too excited and rejoice with the good news. They are still warned that such destinations are being placed in a separate “green watchlist” and this could mean that they can be moved from green to amber if the need arises and the situation requires it. The amber classification means that returning Britons are required to undergo self-isolation at home for up to ten days and they need to undergo at least one additional PCR Covid-19 test.

The UK government has to push through this move after protests from every sector of the country’s travel industry have demanded days ago to open international borders and provided financial support since it is already struggling. Unlike its neighboring European countries, many were frustrated with the government’s response and its lack of specificity with the opening of travel even to fully vaccinated citizens. They were also disappointed with the delayed lifting of quarantine protocols for those who are already fully vaccinated because doing it much earlier could have helped the airline and tourism sector to prepare and boost their recovery efforts.

kentucky tourism will also help the hard-hit tourism industries in the Caribbean where UK is a key market for them, aside from expecting positive results in the country’s tourism industr. It will benefit both the UK and the countries where Britons can enjoy their much needed summer vacation because they are one of the travelers with the highest in numbers in the world. With Tourism setting up of the green light, they will not only enjoy the places outside of the country but it could also have several other positive effects in the current situation that everyone is having a bit of a hard time dealing with.
