Understanding the dissimilarities between the various forms of mental illness can help you understand behavioral health much better. For example, many people mistake depression for bipolar disorder, and vice versa, there might be dissimilarities in the symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar disorder. Anxiety disorders such as panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder might need different treatments than other anxiety conditions. Likewise, different personality disorders such as bipolar disorder might need different treatments than other personality disorders such as bi-polar disorder.


There are many people who struggle with being diagnosed with a mental illness or disorders. People are often frightened by the stigma of being labeled as having behavioral health challenges. It can be very difficult to find the right support system and even when you do find the right support system, many people just won't get the help they need.
