An electric scooter, on the other hand, can go up to 30 mph to be classed as a 'moped scooter'. This means that, in most countries, you can ride it on a normal driving licence. You don't have to take a separate motorcycle test. Any scooter more powerful than that and you need to take a motorcycling test.

It is faster than a normal bicycle so you will not be sweaty when you reach your destination. Riding an electric bicycle is much faster than pedaling a normal bike. If you hurry to go somewhere, you can ride an electric bicycle to avoid being sweaty when you reach the destination.


This is definitely a benefit over non-foldable bikes because now you can easily carry your electric fold up bike onto a ferry, train, bus, and car so easily. You can also fold the bike and keep it in your office safe and sound right next to you knowing that no one is going to get their hands on it without your permission!


On bikes with a twist and go, the bike will be able to take you along entirely under its own power, up to 15.5 Mph (This is a UK Law speed restriction - In the US this is increased to 20mph in most states). This decreases the range of the bike as it asks more of the motor and battery. electric bikes for men would also struggle on steeper slopes - Even the minimum of pedalling is more significant than you may realise!

A moped is what it sounds like, a motor and pedal. What you have is a motorized bicycle. To confuse things more there are electric bicycles also called e-bikes, but we will get to those later. A moped looks like a small motorcycle with or with out pedals. The most common distinction between a moped and a motorcycle is the limited engine size of mopeds or an electric motor on the moped.


You should always ride with absolute care when riding your electric bike. Never ride without a helmet. All it takes is one fall to seriously injure or even kill. It certainly does not hurt to equip yourself with additional safety gear such as elbow and knee pads. It really is better to be safe than sorry and many places may include such safety equipment as a mandatory item by law. Making the choice to operate an electric bike is great, especially if you are doing it for a good cause like helping out the environment. Every effort counts.
