Types of Earthquake Earth Augers

Earthquake Auger rigs are equipped with an electric or hydraulic pressurized tank to move soil and rocks at the epicenter of an earthquake or other earth trembling event. Once the earth is "tied" (secure), the auger is used to break through massive amounts of soil. This process allows the user to dig up and plant crops above the damaged soil. There are many reasons a farmer would want to use an auger. One of the best reasons is because of the ease and safety it provides.

Earthquake Augers, also called "earthquake breakers", are one of the most common pieces of equipment in the world. In fact, they can be found in almost every home and farming operation. All you have to do is turn on the gas or electric and push a button. When the earth is broken, it is easy to clear away excess soil and make room for your crops. A properly maintained and used auger powerhead has about a mile of wire with about three hundred handlebars to move the earth and rocks.

To operate the auger, the operator pushes the handlebar(s) and pulls the trigger(s). The auger moves the handlebars in either direction. The user has a "run position" where the auger is stationary and the user can work around the machine to reach whatever he needs. In the "stop position", the auger is fully stopped and the user can step back and examine the damage.

The four main types of Earthquake Augers are a single-man earth and rock processor, double man earth and rock processor, and a four-man digger or processor. The first type, a single-man machine, is used when there is little danger from vibrations near the site of the auger. It can be moved by hand and then left to its own devices. A double-man processor is operated by two people. The digger is a monster, roughly the size of a small house and weighing in at nearly six hundred pounds!

These gigantic machines come complete with an instruction manual with a video to guide you through the operation of your Earthquake Auger. A hydraulic system controls the rate of the auger and is what makes it go "punching straight up". This increases the odds of the blades or handlebars breaking or twisting when there are heavy roots or rocks underground.

A digger or processor is a smaller version of the above. They have a smaller motor with less horsepower and a smaller footprint. The main difference is the fact that a digger or processor is only powered when in use and when there is a good supply of rock or soil to work with. Since a digger or processor is not as strong as an earth and rock processor, an earthquake with a larger amount of roots or stones may be too much for an average one-man auger.

The last type of earth auger bit is the gas auger. Billious Inc. Distributor This is used when there is a limited amount of ground to move. If there are a lot of rocks or roots in the area, a gas auger may be the only option. Most gas augers operate with a two-speed electric engine that feeds gas in from one side of the line to the other with a transfer valve.

The last type of earthquake earth auger is the fishtail earth auger. It is about half the size of a standard electric auger and can be operated by a single person. A fishtail digger or processor uses a hydraulic system with a transfer valve to move the fluid or gas from the pit to the blade. This requires a minimum of four people to operate, making this the most affordable option. This is the only type of earth auger that can cut through soil with a depth of one foot.
