Hi..so from now on I really don't want to have to approach happy with any of the med corrections...let's just take it as a foregone conclusion that 97% of the mistakes are his and spare me the pointless exercise of trying to help him improve. Today he gave Tyson a depakote but marked it down as a gabapentin. When he showed up I tried really diplomatically to show him and was like it's no big deal just be aware for next time and what not...instead of being like ok my bad, he gets all defensive and immediately changing the subject from one thing to another in effort to throw everybody else under the bus...saying well what about this guy didn't get a client signature and blah blah...it's like talking to a rubber wall, we were having 2 totally different conversations. He's all why don't you talk to whoever forgot this clients initials...I'm like I will when I do the whole weeks meds tomorrow but that's irrelevant to what I'm trying to talk to you about from earlier today and besides not getting initials is a lot different than reporting wrong meds and dosages. Then he's Pointing to a blank spot on someone's sheet where a med was missed demanding to know why I wasn't figuring out who's shift that was and giving them a hard time also. Turned out it was HIM that missed it!! Then he was like trying to recriminate by saying we need to do a better job in our end and why wasn't he told that Greg was trying to steal meds. Well aside from being in numerous emails and staff discussions over the months, I told him last night when he got in that we decided to pack up his meds every night so there wouldn't be an opportunity. We only just decided this and I did tell him as soon as!! I didn't intimate that it was his fault (even though it is) but he knows it is and said we were wrong didn't know what we're talking about, he knows Greg well and he's not stealing meds, our count is wrong blah blah blah... Bunch of crazy claims to prevent any blame falling on himself, even though I never did blame him. I was just like Nevermind sorry I brought it up. All this for gently asking him to be on the lookout for signing off on the wrong meds. So listen, I'm having a difficult time dealing with happy when he fucks up which is all the time... I don't want to be in a position to go around in circles with him so I'm just gonna pass it along to you, Jordan or Luke and forget about it. I can't dance around the fact or sugarcoat it anymore...the guy is borderline incompetent and not smart enough or motivated enough to handle the most basic responsibilities of his job, as basic and simple as they may be. Namely, giving meds, filling a UA form, making a bed and not sleeping. Sorry he just really disgusted me tonight and I want to let my feelings be known so I can forget it and just do my job and I won't mention it again after this. I must've reminded him 6 times when I left to take the bedding from the dryer in max room 8 feet over and make the bed cuz it had just finished washing and of course he didn't do that. Then I have to feel like I'm a jerk if I point out his constant shirking of his duties, like he's just the poor village idiot and I'm being too harsh..but that's messed up. The other thing is I've seen how vindictive he is with guys he's having a problem with like with Jordan, Ian etc.. the amount of shit he would talk and lies he would spread that I witnessed makes me scared of making him feel like I'm crossing him so I'd really rather not. If I'm supposed to correct his mistakes, then I'm going to be forced into a continuous struggle with him because he's constantly making them and lashes out when he is told about them so who needs the aggravation when there's very little chance he'll correct them anyway?
