After conducting elicitation activities with all stakeholders, you were documenting your results in a Microsoft Word document and you realized that your results are inconsistent. What two techniques could you use to confirm your elicitation results and why?

When I need to confirm my elicitation results. I will use those two techniques.

1. Document Analysis:After the elicitation result is done, document analysis is a good method to verify the correctness of the results. By studying other resources, we can compare the result to find out if the result is correct. For example, Honda wants to design three new sedan models for the market. They can analyze the sales data for the market. If the data shows the most popular models are SUV, it means the elicitation results are incorrect.

2.Interviews: Interviews is another good technique to confirm the elicitation results. I think this technique is better for some small project or product. I can collect the information from relevant stakeholders to verify the result. For example, A soda company have some new flavor plan from the elicitation. They can interview the customers on the street to find out which are the most popular flavors. The soda company can compare the results to know if the elicitation is consistent.

To confirm elicitation results, the business analyst needs to compare the elicitation results with the information sourced, and with other elicitation results. I would use Document Analysis and Reviews.

Document analysis works efficient when the information is not consistency with other information. If there a data not consist with other document, I will analyze the document to check if any mistake during elicitation.

It is common to gather incorrect information or conflict results during elicitation. Review is an effective technique to find out the problem or wrong information from the document and support materials gathered during an elicitation session.
