Trekking Sapa, Vietnam

Franklin-Gordon National Park is also known as Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. This place is listed as a world heritage site and for good reason. The things to see here include mountains and valleys, rainforests and of course rivers. The natural scenery here is nothing short of breathtaking. The two main rivers, Franklin and Gordon are still "wild". This means that no dams have been constructed to tame them. The result is two rivers that offer some of the best white water rafting in the world. It is a wonderful way to see this area and take in the scenery.


It is a 14 day trek with entry from Nambu and exit at Yoksum. During the first couple of days, trekkers gain considerable altitude but such gain is risky and should be taken seriously. While planning a trek, it is necessary to have some extra days in order to acclimatize and keep unplanned extra rest days too. Here is a 14 day itinerary of my trek.
