Scott Fujita was born in Ventura, California on April 28th 1979. He was a standout athlete in three sports (football basketball, track and field, and basketball) in Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, CA before heading to the University of California, Berkeley. While of Berkeley, Fujita earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and graduated in 2001 with the highest grade. Additionally, he completed a minor degree with a focus on Business Administration. The final semester of his time at Berkeley, Fujita earned a Masters degree in Education.

Fujita was initially an unofficial safety at Cal However, he was able to make the move to linebacker during his redshirt freshman. He was given an athletic scholarship right at the beginning the Sophomore year. As a Senior and Junior, Fujita started every game as a linebacker. He was also named honorable mention All-Pac 10 and Academic All-Pac 10.

Fujita was selected in the 5th selection of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Fujita played three seasons for the Chiefs under the direction of Head coach Dick Vermeil, and led the team in tackles during the 2003 season and in 2004. Fujita was transferred for the Dallas Cowboys before the start of the 2005 season which was where he was coached by Bill Parcells.

As an unrestricted free-agent in the off-season of 2006, Fujita was signed by the New Orleans Saints, reuniting with his former coach Joe Vitt and Sean Payton. Fujita was the Saints first free-agent signing after the devastating hurricane Katrina which caused destruction to New Orleans and the Gulf South in the summer of 2005.

In the first year Fujita played for the Saints Fujita was picked as the captain of the defensive team by his teammates. He held the title for three seasons. He also was the top tackler for the team in 2006 and 2007. In 2009, Fujita received the honor of being named as"the Saints' "Man of the Year" for his work both on the field and within the community.

In Fujita's four seasons at New Orleans, the Saints have won 2 NFC South Division championships, played at two NFC Championship games, and won Super Bowl XLIV over Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis Colts.

In the aftermath of winning in the Super Bowl, Fujita became an unrestricted free-agent and was the first acquisition from Mike Holmgren with the Cleveland Browns. Fujita was the Browns defense captain during the seasons of 2010 and 2011.

Outside of the court, Fujita dedicates a lot of time for his community, and numerous charitable organizations. Fujita is adamant of the natural world, particularly the preservation and rehabilitation of the Gulf South. He also promotes equality for members of the LGBT community, and promotes programs for adoption and is a vocal advocate of breast cancer awareness because her mother was a twice female breast cancer patient. In his long profession, Fujita has also worked with organizations working to assist, encourage and enrich those lives of young children with cancer or other issues.

Fujita is a member of the NFLPA Executive Committee as a Vice President from 2010. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Team Gleason, which seeks to improve the lives of patients living with ALS and ultimately find solutions to stop this terrible disease.

On the 22nd of April 2013 Fujita made a signing of a day deal for the New Orleans Saints and announced his retirement following 11 years in the NFL at the top of the Peru's Machu Picchu.

In his pursuit of the transition of his career to NFL linebacker, to life outside the playing field, Scott assembled a team to support his goals post-NFL. Utilizing his knowledge and leadership experience from the field of play and transforming into a multi-faceted career post-NFL, Scott joined forces with the New York Times, Fox Sports, foxsports and WDSU's "Saints on 6" Primetime. After a few years working on the sports and broadcast writer circuits, Scott was recruited as a consultant for the film's feature and is now the Executive Director of The Gleason Project Film. Additionally being a partner at Radd3 as well as Director Associate for Team Gleason and Co-Executive Director for Team Gleason's Social Action Campaign.
