I would like to tell you about a story which happened to me during a holiday I spent on a cruise ship through the Arctic. I can't afford to purchase the satphone as it's too pricey, especially for Internet. Before I leave for the world of unknown, I'll have a large audio and video library. The last time I had two songs, both were mockingly downloaded back in the day, so all I could listen to was three jazzy songs and some famous song I didn't know the title. This is it. Four songs for two weeks of nothingness. If I had known this would happen I would have planned. I would have packed my computer with TV shows movies, as well as a lot of music videos. My favorite podcasts were the ones I would listen to for hours. It's simple to download them, then convert to MP3 and save to my personal computer. I then lay in bed and listen to the podcasts that I enjoy, but rarely find the time to listen. It was supposed to be my golden hour or two weeks of gold. However, it was actually two weeks of gazing at the ceiling and running for passengers whenever the sound of a whirring in the corridors.

Literally and metaphorically The trip was empty. I've never been this bored. The ice was way too thick. Knowing that it might cause issues, the boat had the tow back to the shores of civilization. This was not unexpected. But, the hours and hours of downtime could easily have been spent listening to podcastsor watching videos for DIY repairs at home, or just listening to music. The next time I'll convert YouTube videos into MP4 or mp3 using a laptop. This way, I can bring my favorite tunes with me and listen to them on my laptop. Music never makes you feel down. Be aware that Netflix and Hulu apps let you download shows and movies to your computer to view offline. They can also be used on long trips to the Arctic. Don't give up hope. Best of luck!
