The online video storage service is not reliable websites can shut down or cease to function. Here's how you can backup your social video presence on your laptop.

It is my last option to protect against losing data. I have two drives that each have a RAID stack. They copy each others and make sure there's at least one copy in case one of the HDDs crashes. I only copy stuff there, mostly, so very rarely do I need to make the laptop work, this way I'm hoping two drives won't be destroyed in the same day..

Windows copy can be used to merge these fragments into one single file. This is due to the format used for creating the fragments, MpegTS, which is also known as transport stream. The stream contains all the information needed to decode each fragment. They are distinct from one another, allowing every newcomer to stream smoothly. It also saves data on the browser as it downloads 360x10 seconds files instead of the 1hr files. That means that even if you only watch 25 seconds of the stream it will download only 4-6 fragments. (It gets 3-4 fragments from the current 25 second stretch plus one or two additional fragments if you keep watching the stream). It helps reduce the amount of downloading required to view the stream in 25 seconds.
