My children and I travel together with our children. We can't always rely on Wi-Fi at the top of the mountain, so we make sure to prepare at home.

Yes, it was me.. My children have a hard time with this. They think that the WiFi at the top of the mountain is not very strong. While it's not a huge hill, it is well within the normal range for cell phone service which means that my kids have to walk around in search of better internet. My wife and I are setting the camp site for our little group. We'll be here for a couple of days. There is a small stream close to the campsite that has fresh water, even when we don't have the facility. Yes.. My wife isn't able to stay in a tent without water, so we'll be bringing our own.

To be in close proximity to Mother Nature, we visit here every once in the moon's blue. Although I enjoy these trips, it is not my goal to lead these trips. My wife insists on this because she is aware of the pleasure we get from being outdoors, in the wild. However, my kids, they're different completely. It is annoying to me, even when it occurs frequently.

After a few days without Wi-Fi, and with the internet service on our phones constantly being disconnected It was evident that we should be prepared. We, i.e. my wife and I, were prepared for the event that our children don't be able to access the internet for more that 10 minutes. We created two sources of entertainment that will keep us entertained in the event that internet isn't accessible on camping trips. The tablet had music videos as well as the most popular songs it had. Our top Youtube MP3 converter was able to take songs from YouTube videos, convert to an MP3 format and then download the songs onto the tablet. It works with playlists, too, so it was fast, despite the fact that it's quite lengthy. If anyone was feeling uninspired or down it was still possible to listen to music and view videos. The second tablet was mostly a collection of shows and cartoons that we downloaded from Hulu and Netflix apps with offline storage to watch later. The quality isn't great, but it's something. There are numerous seasons of Breaking Bad there and many cartoons like Family Guy and Disenchantment. It was fun and easy. Tablet 2 arrived a few days after tablet one. But when it did arrive, my children were able to use it to stream shows. A couple of DIY videos were made by me, such as building of a tent and the skinning of fresh-caught fish. Things you would never do in the city. The videos I downloaded from Youtube, converted to MP4 and then saved on my tablet. It's so much more easy to have videos on your tablet when you're doing something.

These two tricks keep my kids entertained during four family camping trips. Even my children don't mind going out as they know that tablet 2 will be with them to help them through boring downtime. They'll also take it home whenever they're ready. I've never been more content, that's what I've ever wanted to do - be with my family.
