Video storage on the internet isn't reliable. Websites can shut down or fail. Here's how to backup your social media videos to your personal computer.

My personal story doesn't have any depth. I was born, went through school, worked, then finally found some information online. But there were some terrible moments in which everything seemed lost forever. One of those instances was the time my personal computer at work went completely silent. However, after a bit of tweaking, acquiring a new desktops and moving the hard drive from the old into the new one I was able restore all my work stored on the drive. It took me three days to sweat and cry... however, I did learn one thing. Dropbox and my personal ftp server can automatically and manually back up my work day to ensure that it's never lost.
However, it's not the best option. You'll need to pay more to maintain your data storage online. It's easy to use and appears to be quite safe. It's also accessible and is able to be downloaded from anywhere that has internet connectivity. But what about times that WiFi or an internet connection isn't accessible? I'm grateful to always keep my laptop with me in those instances. It's my final safe harbour for backups. I have two drives, one for each HDD. This allows them to duplicate each other, and assures that one copy will remain in the event of failure. I just copy things there, usually, and rarely make the laptop work, this way I'm hoping two drives won't go out on the same day..
The other day of my life of deep grief occurred just a few weeks back. I'm careful not lose the work I've done. In the same way I've copied the entire document many times and am able to access it whenever the internet is. The difference was about Periscope. I have used it quite a in the past and this past summer, during the riots in 2020, I did a few live streams.. All of a sudden Periscope TV is closing, and all videos will disappear in just couple of weeks. What do I do? I need to download all of the videos to be able to store them offline on my laptop. The videos are significant for me. I was with my friend when he disappeared from the radars of Covid. It seems like it was just a matter of time.
It's a website that I frequently go to. It lets me download my videos to Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook - the other sites that host my live streaming. I'm a fan of politics and underground movements, so I record a lot of live events, and store them for future usage. I then post them videos on my YouTube channel and then save them into my computer. This is exactly how I work. It allows me to cross-post videos on multiple platforms. I can share YouTube videos on Facebook and upload it on Facebook. Each video is a separate video. In reality I have over 3TB live feeds from the past 8 years. Periscope lives aren't gone.. and this site is very helpful for me.
It works like a charm. Open the Periscope video I want to download, then copy the URL from the share link. After that I visit the site for downloading videos to copy the URL, then press the button. In just a few seconds, I have multiple options to download videos. Periscope isn't on all websites. However, this site offers Periscope support.
download youtube video online

You can use windows copy to combine these fragments, and then create a standard 1-long video file. It happens because of the format of video used to create the video fragments: Mpeg TS, also known as transport stream. It has all the information needed for decoding video in each of the fragments. Every stream can be initiated from the middle with no interruption. However, it allows browsers to save data transfer, because instead of one hour of data, it is able to download 360 x 10 second files. It only downloads those you are watching. So, even if you watch only 25 seconds of the stream, your player ends up downloading just 4-6 fragments (it downloads 3-4 fragments of the current 25 second duration as well as 1-2 fragments following in the event that you continue watching the stream). It reduces the amount of download required for viewing the stream within 25 seconds.
