Five Main Parts:
Slate
Playing cards are more accurate on a slate table, which is also level for a consistent playing surface. Slate is typically 3/4" to 1" in thickness and is a requirement for tournament tables.
Legs
In addition to supporting the table's weight, the legs raise it for play.
Frame
It is the structure that supports the slate on the table. You should make sure the frame is made of high quality materials, solid, and is ideally glued directly to the slate in order to prevent cracking.
Cloth
This cloth is also known as pool table felt and covers the top surface of the slates. To ensure a smooth playing surface, it must be durable. 80% of professional-grade pool tables are made of natural wool and 20% of them of synthetic nylon.
Cushions / Rails
Also called rail cushions or bumpers. It is the cloth-covered rubber that borders the rails on the inside of the table.
Cushion rails: Where cushions are attached to typically made of solid wood. In the event that the cushions need to be replaced, the rails stop chips and peeling from occurring.
Pool Table Accessories and Equipment
