The process is pretty straight-forward. You snap together the plywood long pieces of the frame, first the bow half and then the stern. (the original Kleppers were made from bamboo.) You slip the halves inside a canvas cover and attach them to each other. Joining the sections stretches the cover tight and then you can insert ribs, seats and coaming. As a first-time assembler, it took me about 35 minutes to put the boat together. It's not hard and there is a certain satisfaction in watching the thing grow.

From beach weddings to mountain weddings to weddings at sea -- the trend tells me one thing: don't get married in LA. Ok, it tells me two things: if you're going to get married in LA and you want any kind of privacy, you should rent a yacht.

False Creek is very popular as a boating area. Many activities such as canoeing, pleasure boating, and dragon boating take place here, and there are charter ships and public ferries as well. It is home to several boat rental facilities, paddling clubs as well as ten marinas that have berths for more than a thousand water craft. Hundreds of canoeists, kayakers, dragon boaters and rowing enthusiasts converge upon the creek every day.

Around noon we headed over the Pop's Dockside Grill and Raw Bar. We heard about the rotating weekly Sunday buffet so we wanted to give that a try. We were very pleased and our bellies showed it. They must have the world's best fried chicken. Now I'm a good cook but the traditional Southern food there just knocked my socks off. From rent a boat in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with ham, to the dessert cobbler you could tell everything was homemade. The place was hopping all morning into the afternoon since they serve the buffet until 6pm. It isn't a line up of trays though. You just tell the server what you want from the buffet items and they bring you a fresh plate each time. I could have lived there for a few days they way we ate.
