The online video storage sites may stop functioning or cease to be available. Here's how you can backup your social video presence to your laptop.

My story isn't very big. I was born, attended school, worked, labored to finally achieve something online.. It also has some challenging moments that made me think that it was all over. One of those instances was when my personal computer at work went completely in silence. After a bit of tweaking, moving the hard drive from my old to the new drive and getting an entirely new desktop, all my work was restored. It took me three days of sweating and tears... It's also accessible, and it can be downloaded from any location that has internet access. What happens if the internet is not available? I keep my laptop handy in these situations. Another day of great sadness was a few months ago. I try to not perish in the process of completing any work. Like I said I have duplicates of it many times. Also, it is available on the internet whenever connectivity is accessible. It was Periscope. It was a tool I frequently used a number of years ago. Even in summer in 2020, during the disturbances and violence, I was able to do a few live streams. In the present, Periscope TV is closing down and all the videos will go away within a couple of weeks. What do I do? To save the videos on my laptop offline, I must download all of them. It's a site I utilize to download videos from Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and other places. I'm a political activist and am involved in underground movements, and so I often film live events, store them for future use, publish some on my Youtube channel, and every time live is done, I backup the footage to my laptop. This is just the way I work. It allows me to cross-posting videos on multiple platforms. Not only can I share Youtube videos on Facebook, but I can also upload the video directly onto Facebook. It's a separate video. In reality I am able to store more than 3TB live feeds from the last 8 years. And I'm not going to lose my Periscope lives.. This site has helped me tremendously.

It functions like an angel. You can open the Periscope video that I wish to download, then copy the URL from the share link. After that I go to the site for downloading videos. After copying the URL, I press the button that's big. Within a few minutes, I can see a range of options to save the video on my desktop or laptop. To share it across various platforms, and to keep it safe for my family and friends. Periscope is not accessible on all platforms. The site is able to manage the m3u8 file other websites download on behalf of you. Then, I go to the video downloader site and copy my video's URL where they want it. Then, I press the large button. Video doesn't download to my personal computer, but it's available online and can be played online as the player loads small fragment files each time.

Windows copy can be used to combine these fragments into a single file. It happens because of the video format used for the video fragments, Mpeg TS aka transport stream. The format used to create the fragments is called Mpeg TS. It allows newcomers to stream from the middle of the stream without interruption. It helps save browser data as well. Instead of downloading a single hour file it downloads 360 x 10 second files. If you only watch for 25 seconds, your player only downloads 3-4 pieces. The current 25-second stretch gets 3-4 fragments. This lets you reduce the amount of data you need by downloading only 25 seconds of stream video.
