Description : Google Code Jam is annual programming contest organized by Google. It consists of a set of problems which has to solved during the contest. Each problem has one small input test case and one large output test case. After a participant has coded the solution, he is required to download the small test input. After the download finishes, a timer starts for 4 minutes. The user has to run the downloaded input test case and submit the output file before the timer stops. Each test case has certain points awarded to them. The large test case can be downloaded only once. There is time penalty for wrong submissions.

Description : CodeChef is community of competitive programmers who come together to take part in monthly contests. They publish the solutions and editorial after the contest for people to discuss and share solutions. There are two types of contest. One is long contest which tests the ability to come up solutions to challenging and time consuming problems. Another is short contest which measures the efficiency of quickly solving a tricky question. They also have practice questions which can be solved anytime. After a user codes up the solution, he submits his solutions for a particular problem. His code is run against the input test cases and matched with correct output on the server. They have a rating system which calculates the global rank of a participant based on his performance in different contests.
