7 Tips for Finding Cheap Airfare: a blog written for the Spirit Airlines audience about finding cheap airfare.

Spirit Airlines is one of the oldest and most established low-cost airlines in North America. Spirit Airlines’ history dates back to 1979, when it began operations as a charter airline operating flights between New York City and Las Vegas.
In 1985, Spirit Airlines was recognized with an airline transport pilot certification, an award that recognizes airlines that have demonstrated superior safety performance. The airline has also developed a reputation for being a leader in technological innovation, leading the way with the introduction of flight attendants' first fully integrated body-worn flight monitors and other innovations.
Spirit Airlines is now headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA. It operates out of 20 cities across North America: New York (Newark), Las Vegas (LAS), Boston (BOS), Washington, DC (DCA), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA) and Toronto (YYZ). A fleet of Boeing 757s and Airbus A320s provides service to over 200 destinations worldwide.
Since 1992, Spirit Airlines has pioneered a unique program called Fare Club whereby passengers purchase tickets for one way flights at a discounted price with no change to the fare. Each month the airline selects from more than 400 different flights from 1 to 9 months in advance to offer its customers these special fares at no charge.

Spirit Airlines is the only US airline that offers flights on one-way tickets for as little as $9, and it has been for quite a while now. Spirit is a low-cost carrier with a strong focus on customer experience.
The airline has been serving New Zealand since 1990, and currently flies from Auckland to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. It offers cheap flights to the UK (via London), but not to the USA or Canada.
In 2016, they switched from an all-inclusive fare policy (where you paid nothing up front) to an exclusive fare policy (where you pay $20 up front).
Since then, Spirit airline has improved dramatically – they’ve added in-flight WiFi (at no extra charge), upgrade options galore and even loyalty programs. Their fares are competitive with some of the bigger airlines in NZ. The company has also begun offering discounted fares to Hawaii starting in 2018.
