There are a few ways to avoid the loss of your Wanna Get Away® flight. You can cancel your Wanna Get Away® ticket within 24 hours after you purchase it, as long as it’s purchased in the same form. This means you can purchase a ticket for a different destination, and then cancel it, without having to pay any more money.
If you don’t have enough money left on your card to cover the cost of the flight, you can contact your bank or credit union to request a refund from your account. If that doesn’t work, you can also request another card from Spirit Airlines—they don’t look at how much cash is on the card, only at what’s left on it—and then purchase a one-way ticket with that card.
Always remember: When you make or buy a Wanna Get Away® ticket with Spirit Airlines, they hold it against your name until they receive payment from you (credit card or check). If they don’t receive payment within 24 hours of making or buying the flight, they will cancel the flight and forfeit their money.
